1000 members

The forum is about to have 1000 members. Maybe there are a few inactive spambots in there, but I generally block/ban all of them.

If you look closely, you'll see that this is the 'off-topic category'.  ;)

What's strange, is that I've had to ban at least 7 spambots today. It's as if they want to be the 1000th member.

We have now exceeded 1000 members thanks to Tony Montana's firm but constructive guidance:

If only, ASLR! There's a veritable onslaught of (Russian) spambots today. I just had to delete 10! Looks like I'm going to have to change some of the verification questions...

Still 998.  ;D

Well maybe this time it is for real showing 1000 members exactly right down to Zythryn!

No, I'm sorry, there seems to be this Russian spambot invasion (what a coincidence). I've changed everything I can to hold them at bay, but apparently it takes a while for the system to deal with it, and so the counter crosses the 1000 threshold and then flips back again.

I've also asked Dungeon master to have a look and see if the spambots can be fended off at an earlier point.

Either way, I'll announce it when two humans have registered. Spambots included we would have had 1353 members.

Just getting above 100 is a bit of a challenge!

This must be my 99th entry on the forum. I think I will save my contribution #100 for a rainy day. It is - after all - somewhat of an achievement to become a "citizen" at this honourable forum.

Maybe it is a good idea - in order to lure a couple of new pundits into the fold - to change the lowest category from "lurker" to something more amenable.

Snooper?

I'm sure change deniers love some of the posts on here, ammunition for the counter argument. Lurker is a far gentler word than I would use for them.

Honestly, I quite like lurker; it encourages one to spam like a Russian bot.

I think you should have a few billion members Neven, considering what's at stake. ;)

Lurker is fine, there are lurkers in here who were buzy writing papers concerning the solid state of H2O a decade before this forum started, then there are citizens who have posted fifty times more, that posts graphs produced by deniers. And apart from the Governor himself there's of course the Royalty that have contributed immensly to my own understanding just by posting papers and exploring worst case scenarios.

I'm not too sure about the Middle Class members though... But I guess it takes all kinds.

Neven,

Maybe I should be more patient, but is Sterks the 1000th human member?

Best,
ASLR
