Cetaceans, the most evolved species .
The most evolved parasites ?
Hopefully some of them will think about it after their thanksgiving dinner .

In society controlled by money democracy morphs to moneycracy. i.e. replaces/exchanges people with money.
WHOA, how disgusting subject to start the day. Lets turn it into:

Wandering about what could we do together (longterm) - we thumbs having species and they, brain having species - raises

Sience and religion together :
   C. Rovelli:   "...Science is about finding the most reliable way of thinking, at the present level of knowledge..."
Pope Francis: "...was not telling the members of his audience what to think: he was showing them how, and he was inviting them to think with him..."

Limbos opposes, denying not only science and religion, denying nature also.

So, primitive imbecilic parasites, so pathetic that even vogons make jokes on them, attacked again suppresing YT link ""ZZ Top Live - La Grange ; T..." The YouTube account associated with this video has been terminated due to multiple third-party notifications of copyright infringement. ----- Sorry about that." Here follows the same one: ZZ Top Closing Crossroads Guitar Festival and bonus here. The bonus song also uses the word 'mercy' so future of it is bleak bcse Limbos destroy what they do not understand.

Enemies of life, the Universe and everything what matters, the worst terorists this planet will ever see, did that again: "This video has been removed by the user. --- Sorry about that." Here we go again : ZZ Top/Crossroads Guitar Festival :) And something more for them to destruct: 1, 2.

RIP , we'll never forget you .

Let us replace 'the devil' with 'climate change deniers' and think about it & political ponerology .

Notes: "A form of government interesting to ponerologists is one they have called pathocracy, in which individuals with personality disorders (especially psychopathy) occupy positions of power and influence." Interdisciplinary it is: "As a discipline it makes use of data from psychology, sociology, philosophy, and history..."

From the Book, pg. 199 of 1998 edition: "The following question thus suggests itself: what happens if the network of understandings among psychopaths achieves power in leadership positions with international exposure? This can happen, especially during the later phases of the phenomenon. Goaded by their character, such people thirst for just that even though it would conflict with their own life interest. They do not understand that a catastrophe would ensue. Germs are not aware that they will be burned alive or buried deep in the ground along with the human body whose death they are causing."

What is supposed to keep limbic system under control ?
I'll cite james w/o check: "Humans evolved a portion of the cortex to partially control the limbic system to allow social, cooperative behaviors. It’s a limbic suppressor and usually I’ll place it in the medial prefrontal cortex."

Make no mistake: Limbos are nothing new, evolutionary stuck (if not going backward) embracing the most any sort of force (direct destruction, thuging, bribing, deception, misinformation...) with which they acquire what they want.
Compare that awkwardness with elegance of minimal force aproach, for example Albatross .

Some humans gather and share knowledge hoping understanding nature of what they are part .
Limbos gather shiny marbles demanding others to bow. Anyone can have shiny marbles, stealing from others if nothing else helps. These can never be taken from us.
"Understanding" is not what someone can buy, or steal .

Thanks, Laurent.

Limbos, my friends cetaceans might say, are smaller on the inside.
As they infiltrated-into/grabbed-over the most of everything of importance to society (institutions, business, communications) - they are in crescendo of their anti-evolution revolution.
They inverts meaning of so many terms, example: spying, stealing, thugging, torturing, killing, destroying, crime, war criminal, crime against life (any lifeform including their own) is not that - when *they* do that.
Even what reality means. But nature says NO.
Fasten your belts my friends and say NO to them, there is nothing more real then nature.

Music is everywhere if one care to listen.

In Sweden we've seen wood anemones, cowslips and wild strawberries recently. Today I read about someone who had fresh/new potatoes. That's normally a tradition to eat here around the summer solstice. Maybe they will save some for Christmas and start a new tradition?

The forecasts now says it will be up towards +12°C on Sunday, in large parts of southern Sweden. Heck, that's even warmer than we had in June.

The most pathetic species, H2G2 newly added entry reads
"Limbos: Descendants of monkeys who fell from a tree and due to extensive brain damage were not able to climb back.
Leaders are chosen by capability to invert meaning of their actions.
Main entertainment: Sawing the branch on which they sit, with explanation to those who might wonder: 'It's not what it looks like'. When inevitable happens the tree is declared a terrorist and burnt in mass orgy."

They are subject of recent stand-up's across the Universe. Wowbagger the Infinitely Prolonged asked about his role in this digress: "I did nothing to them".
Even vogons humphs and propose new bypass to be built there. "Look - if we all have to sacrifice something in the name of common good, we are ready" says Prostetnic Vogon Jeltz.

Prostetnic Vogon Jeltz speaking to the Galactic Hyperspace Planning Council about neccessity of announcement of the proposal of building plan to the Sol system: "Why bother. They do not care about neighbours. They do not care what's happens around, how pathetically blind is that, hmph-ff-pffffart..." Babel fish broke down in this part of speech.

Tell them, help them to become aware, that is what society should do .

Limbos want to keep people in dark, humans do not agree.

Documenting a vanishing culture, Part 1.

Attempting to post a photo of lake ice, let's see if this computes.  Apparently not. I'll have to upload that first somewhere else. No problem. There's nothing special here. This lake has only a very shallow outlet so here the ice melts almost undisturbed (Lake Littoinen public beach http://www.visitkaarina.fi/littoinen-beach, 2016.02.19). I'm guessing the cleared path for long distance ice-skaters (taken 2016.01.23) is likely to have the strongest ice. Still, I wouldn't cross the lake anymore.

The third image is of the community sauna for ice swimmers, 2016.01.23 (the nearest place I could do this). What they've done here they've installed two water pumps constantly circulating the water from the bottom to the surface, though only one is working in the image, this keeps the ice from covering the swimming spot. Additional benefit from this is the eutrophicated lake keeps its oxygen balance way better. No ice swimmers though, the sauna in question gets warmed up four times per week on evenings http://villajarvela.blogspot.fi/p/saunat.html

4th img: changed my avatar to a photo a friend took of the short rest stop at the pier of Kuoviluoto (Curlew Islet) https://www.facebook.com/Kuoviluoto-151886198213030/ , another large sauna for rent for possible festive activities. They're obviously more of a summer location, and I guess the reservations for an evening in either of these should be made c. half a year in advance.

The sign on the pier is the new personal message, word by word, to emphasize the difference between english and finnish. I've been to this pier twice in my life before, and can confirm the waters just 1,5m deep here.

summary:

"A lucky shot.

During his evening walk the photographer got within 10 meters of a lynx. The Lynx filmed in Nurmijärvi (ab.18 miles from the centre of Helsinki) was actually protecting her cub hiding near the photographer, by attracting the humans attention.  The deep purrs of the mother lynx were responded by the cub by squeaking noises resembling the noises of puppies missing their mother, said the photographer who accidentally got in between these. "

Normally lynxes do not move much in the early evening dusk, it's possible the mother was relocating with her cub to a better hunting location.

Documenting a vanishing culture part 2.

Happened on a gym class of old style, while visiting the beach yesterday. There's been almost normal temperatures here two past weeks so the soft parts of the lake ice have frozen solid again. The photo of great spotted woodpecker (Dendrocopos major) drumming on a dead tree wasn't sharp enough so here some other photos.

1. Kids learning to ski on lake ice, this could be the last year some of them can do this here in the southern Finland. In the late 1970s and early 1980s I hated this stuff.
2. A path cross the ice towards the sauna and the winter-swimming spot. This photo could be from anywhere in Finland from 1700s to 2016, as the people in the country side didn't warm up their saunas on same days, so friendly neigborghs could share the load of keeping clean and warming up the sauna. That this is a modern picture can only be revealed by the fact that here someone has tested free-style skiing on shallow snow.
3. This could be from 1979 when I was on exactly the same spot, jumping on ice testing how strong it really is. The ditch isn't too deep and the parking spot is near so no real risk of death here.
4. Elderly man takes his dog to the forest for a morning walk, possibly thinking the gravel on sidewalks will hurt the feet of his companion.

A Dangerous Game is the explosive documentary from filmmaker and investigative journalist Anthony Baxter (You've Been Trumped), which examines the eco-impact of luxury golf resorts around the world. Featuring exclusive interviews with Alec Baldwin, Robert Kennedy Jr. and Donald Trump, the film takes viewers on a globe-spanning journey to a World Heritage site in Croatia; the extravagant desert city of Dubai, the explosion of new but supposedly illegal courses in China and back to the filmmaker's native Scotland, where Donald Trump continues his controversial building. The public are being asked to name the UK's new polar research ship.

The £200m, 15,000-tonne, 128m-long vessel is being built at Cammell Laird on Merseyside, and is due to become operational in 2019.

Anyone can propose a suitable name on a special website which will accept ideas up until 16 April.

The new ship will replace the existing polar fleet - the RRS James Clark Ross and RRS Ernest Shackleton - and work in both the Arctic and the Antarctic.

Names that have featured on previous UK research vessels will not be used again. But beyond that restriction, the possibilities are wide.

The Natural Environment Research Council (Nerc), which manages British polar science, says it is looking for something inspirational - something that will exemplify the ship's work.

The chosen name doesn't have to be that of a famous polar scientist; it could just as easily be the name of a place or phenomenon.

For example, the German polar research vessel is called Polarstern, or Pole Star; and the ship used regularly by Australian Antarctic scientists is called Aurora Australis - another name for the Southern Lights.

"Nerc's new ship will help put the UK at the cutting edge of polar research," said council chief executive, Prof Duncan Wingham.

"Built in the North West of England, she will help bring an economic boost to the region and to the UK shipbuilding industry.

"Today we are launching our campaign to bring our ship to the UK people, asking for their help to find her a name that encapsulates her role at the forefront of UK science.

"We are excited to hear what the public have to suggest and we really are open to ideas."

Image caption The ship contract will secure 400-500 jobs at Cammell Laird

The funding of a new British RRS to work in icy seas was announced by Chancellor George Osborne in April 2014, with a contract to build the ship being given to Cammell Laird last year.

Since then, the Merseyside shipbuilder has been going through a detailed design exercise and expects eventually to be employing 400-500 people on the vessel's construction.

The ship will feature a helipad, cranes, onboard labs, and have the ability to deploy subs and other ocean survey and sampling gear.

Some of this equipment will go through an enclosed "moon pool", or "wet porch", inside the vessel.

Dr Robert Larter, a geophysicist working with the British Antarctic Survey, says the ship will have greatly increased scientific capabilities, especially in relation to the importance of the Southern Ocean and the role it plays in Earth's climate system.

"This is an area that has the most powerful ocean currents in the world - the Antarctic Circumpolar Current is the link between all the world's oceans; and the seas around Antarctica are the 'factories' of most of the world's bottom water which drives the over-turn of the oceans. So, there's a lot to learn and this new ship will help us do that," he told BBC News.

I saw this NZ doco yesterday and thought some of you might enjoy seeing it too, the photography is exceptional:
"Speechless. The Polar Realm", filmed in various polar regions over a number of years:
http://www.richardsidey.com/speechless/
Very moving, no talking, just a sensitive musical soundtrack. Gave me a real sense of the overwhelming richness & sheer abundance of the wildlife inhabiting the regions. (And yes a deep sadness as to what we can lose)

I find you can download it from Vimeo online there, seems v reasonably priced?
& from a review-
"Perhaps better described as a lush visual poem than a documentary, this meditative exploration of the world's polar regions and their adorable inhabitants features no talking heads and no voiceover, and is all the more dreamlike for it.
Offering up one stunning sight after another (the giant walrus sleepily rolling into the water is a particular highlight), the film is almost unbearably cute at times, but in a good way. As it nears the end of its 45 minute running time, an always-there undercurrent bubbles to the surface, and it climaxes with an SOS call for its melting subject."

An online poll to name Britain's latest polar research ship has produced a ridiculous name as the favourite: "Boaty McBoatface".  :o

Shocking reality of climate change kicks in - but who's listening?

Last month must go down as one of the worst ever in the annals of climate change, writes James Dyke, with parts of the Arctic 16C hotter than usual and the 'safe' warming level of 2C breached across the Northern hemisphere. But even worse is the near-total lack of reaction from business, politicians and media.

Conclusion :

We seem unable to understand that we are driving such changes: record breaking changes that will ultimately break our civilisation, and so scatter all that we obsess and care about.

I often wondered what kind of bird that was on your profile picture. Now I know.  :)

They sometimes show up in our garden in Austria as well, if I'm not mistaken.
