Like most other regions, glaciers in South Georgia appear to be retreating rapidly.

I have no specialist knowledge, but thought that it was worth opening up another front on the board to discuss South Georgia's 61 named glaciers.

This is probably also a worthwhile home for discussion of the neglected South Sandwich Islands. Their cover is permanent, but does not appear to be substantial enough to be considered glacial.
