It seems that there is some new cracking causing some buzz. Can anyone consolidate into layman's terms what the hell it might look look like around the NP right now compared to how it might have looked like, say, 30-100 years ago? I am starting to picture slush (non-technical term) vs. solid ice that say, a helicopter might land on without extensive recon. This is a very broad request, I know. But I still am harboring hopes I might eventually be able to run the Arctic marathon...(ha!)
Edit: I am not in any way associated with that race. But I am interested in hearing only a semi-technical analysis of the situation up north. You people rock, but I find myself lost sometimes in the details.
Another Edit: Any news on the goats head? My searches have been futile so far, but I suspect I am not doing it right...
