You will all know about NZ'rs passion for rugby.  ;)

"This says it all really. Despite the climate crisis, the John Key Government has failed to take action on climate and instead pushes for deep sea oil drilling, invests in road building and big irrigation schemes that drive agriculture emissions. NZ's gross emissions have risen by 23 per cent, and net emissions by 54 per cent, since 1990. Our gross emissions per person are now fifth highest out of the 41 countries which set reduction targets under the 1997 Kyoto Protocol, and our net emissions are 14th highest."

Similarly it does not matter that 3% of "scientists" polled are not convinced about climate change, as there a lot of denialists masquerading as scientists:

You may well be right (even through the internet source where I found the image, possibly incorrectly, indicated that it was related to storm surge).  Consequently, I offer the first attached image of a levee in the California Delta being overtopped by waves and the second image showing the inundation of Liberty Island in the California Delta; both associated with the 1998 El Nino event.

Thinking what will be the situation of the Arctic Sea Ice after the storm, could it be that we will have a lake on Santa's backyard?  :o 8)

Edit: I know, it will not be a lake, it will be open water in the Arctic Ocean, and I should not laugh...  :P

Which is the best answer to Sep-2012 ASI lost (compared to 1979-2000)?
50% [NSIDC Extent] or
73% [PIOMAS Volume]

Volume is harder to measure than extent, but 3-dimensional space is real, 2D's hide ~50% thickness gone.
-> IPCC/NSIDC trends [based on extent] underestimate the real speed of ASI lost.

The domino effect will likely bring negative socio-economic & environmental impacts sooner than the "Me Generation" expects (if ECS is 4.6C we may reach the 2C limit by 2030 to 2035):
