A free online participatory run through on energy generation and the issues involved. Pretty good but basic. Easy for non technical types to get up to speed on the issues.

Physics for Future Presidents.


A course in Berkeley for non maths types to get to grips with the basics of physics. Great and well lectured. Bit long but does the job.

The lecturer has gained some notoriety in the climate debate since this was made.....

A near must watch for anyone interested in climate. Hour long.

A friend just told me about the Coursera site & I too found a large array of interesting courses including a number of climate change related ones,

I've been enjoying the ice crack images of A Team & others on the blog site!
In my case I make more abstract art (textiles) & want my new Arctic themed ones ("Look North"?) to also be scientifically accurate & as meaningful as possible.
My previous works were inspired by the Antarctic in "Look South".

@Clare: So long as your market isn't the UK!

"Look North" used to be a regional news programme aimed at Yorkshire (UK). Its anchorman was the personable Austin Mitchell (now MP). Feisty, but not an image you'd want to associate with Arctic themed textiles.

Thanks for the heads up, Anne, I will check that out if I decide to use that title. It's just a 'working' one at present.
Actually there is almost no 'market' for my stuff, in UK or anywhere! I just make it, show it when I can & the pile stored under the bed grows. Sort of like the princess & the pea! Maybe if I made prettier stuff, but I dont. Hence needing the day job.

Nate Hagens explains why super normal stimuli is driving us to over consume the planet. It explains the why to the how we are changing the climate and over consuming resources. Gets a bit technical on neurology but not too deep.

Some may wish to be more conversant on the issue as they engage with the public over the needs to limit CO2 and the more you know the less you can get blindsided by people with specialist knowledge.
