And here is the table comparing the 2020 maximum with previous yerars maxima.

Average remaining sea ice gain (of the last 10 years) would produce a minimum in November 2020 of 16.19 million km2, 0.64 million km2 above the 2018 record low minimum of 15.55 million km2.

I think with global there are two annual minima?

So far only only one screw-up with change of blurb from looking at max to looking at min.

Yes, the main one in February and a false one (much higher) usually in early September.

Oh well, that's me fooled again.
Yesterday I assumed that the maximum had been reached on 6th November.
Today I look at 8 November data and we have a new maximum - due to high Arctic sea ice gain and low Antarctic sea ice loss.

JAXA GLOBAL SEA ICE EXTENT:  25,132,517 KM2 as at 08-Nov-2020

- Extent gain on this day 107k, 131 k more than the average loss on this day (of the last 10 years) of 24k,

- Extent is at position #5 in the satellite record

- 2020 Extent is  0.72 million km2 MORE than 2019,

Projections of the Unknown Quantity. (Table JAXA-AA1)

The maximum is already late.

JAXA GLOBAL SEA ICE EXTENT:  25,171,652 KM2 as at 10-Nov-2020

- Extent loss on this day 14k, 28 k less than the average loss on this day (of the last 10 years) of 42k,

- Extent is at position #5 in the satellite record

- 2020 Extent is  0.95 million km2 MORE than 2019,

Projections of the Unknown Quantity. (Table JAXA-AA1)

Maybe the maximum was reached on 9th November at 25.19 million km2, but maybe not.

Today I am assuming that the maximum was on the 9th November at 25.185 million km2. So below is the blurb for the Global sea ice melting season.

JAXA GLOBAL SEA ICE EXTENT:  25,107,667 KM2 as at 11-Nov-2020

- Extent loss on this day 64k, 1 k less than the average loss on this day (of the last 10 years) of 65k,
- Extent loss from maximum on this date is -0.08 million km2, 0.26 million km2, 77% less than the 10 year average loss of -0.33 million km2.
- Extent is at position #5 in the satellite record
- 2020 Extent is  1.00 million km2 MORE than 2019,
On average 3.7% of sea ice gain from maximum to minimum done, and 93 days to minimum.

Projections of the Unknown Quantity. (Table JAXA-AA1)

Average remaining sea ice loss (of the last 10 years) would produce a minimum in February 2021 of 16.44 million km2, 0.19 million km2 above the 2018 record low minimum of 15.55 million km2.

JAXA GLOBAL SEA ICE EXTENT:  25,110,051 KM2 as at 12-Nov-2020

- Extent gain on this day 2k, 73 k less than the average loss on this day (of the last 10 years) of 71k,

- Extent is at position #5 in the satellite record

- 2020 Extent is  1.03 million km2 MORE than 2019,

Projections of the Unknown Quantity. (Table JAXA-AA1)

Extent is still dithering - could even increase to a new maximum. Plume attached as projections totally meaningless at the mpment.

JAXA GLOBAL SEA ICE EXTENT:  25,115,220 KM2 as at 13-Nov-2020

- Extent GAIN on this day 5k, 76 k less than the average LOSS on this day (of the last 10 years) of 71k,

- Extent is at position #5 in the satellite record

- 2020 Extent is  1.04 million km2 MORE than 2019,

Projections of the Unknown Quantity. (Table JAXA-AA1)

Extent is still being disobedient- could even increase to a new maximum. Plume attached as projections even more totally meaningless than usual at the moment.

All because Antarctic sea ice losses less thn average, Arctic sea ice gains greater than average.

JAXA GLOBAL SEA ICE EXTENT:  25,144,244 KM2 as at 14-Nov-2020

- Extent GAIN on this day 29k, 90 k less than the average LOSS on this day (of the last 10 years) of 61k,
- Extent loss from maximum on this date is -0.04 million km2, 0.49 million km2, 92% less than the 10 year average loss of -0.53 million km2.
- Extent is at position #5 in the satellite record
- 2020 Extent is  1.14 million km2 MORE than 2019,

Projections of the Unknown Quantity. (Table JAXA-AA1)

Extent is still being disobedient- can increase of 42 k would be a new maximum well over a week later than average.

And all because Antarctic sea ice losses less than average, Arctic sea ice gains greater than average.

Despite a below average Antarctic sea ice extent loss, a very much below average Arctic sea ice extent gain suggest that the melting season might now be actually under way.

JAXA GLOBAL SEA ICE EXTENT:  25,053,167 KM2 as at 15-Nov-2020

- Extent loss on this day 91k, 45 k more than the average loss on this day (of the last 10 years) of 46k,
- Extent loss from maximum on this date is -0.13 million km2, 0.45 million km2, 77% less than the 10 year average loss of -0.58 million km2.
- Extent is at position #5 in the satellite record

On average 6.5% of sea ice loss  from maximum to minimum done, and 89 days to minimum

Projections of the Unknown Quantity. (Table JAXA-AA1)

Average remaining sea ice loss (of the last 10 years) would produce a minimum in February 2021 of 16.63 million km2, 1.08 million km2 above the 2018 record low minimum of 15.55 million km2.

On this day in 2016, global sea ice extent was just 23k shy of being 3 million km2 less than it is on this day. Some of us were thinking - that's it, tipping point passed.

Well, got that one wrong - maybe. Something is going on the Antarctic, but what?

The low daily sea ice extent losses is mainly down to the Antarctic slow melting season..

In the last three days very high Arctic sea ice extent gains plus very high Antarctic sea ice extent losses resulted in very little change in Global sea ice extent.
i.e. the Global data hides large changes in the North & South

In the last month the difference between the actual Global Sea Ice extent to the average extent of the 2000s declined from 2.5 M km² to 0.5 M km².
If this trend continues, Global Sea Ice Extent will match the 2000s average curve soon for the first time since Dec 03, 2015.
It is too late just to be concerned about Climate Change

Projections of the Unknown Quantity. (Table JAXA-AA1)

Average remaining sea ice loss (of the last 10 years) would produce a minimum in February 2021 of 16.74 million km2, 1.19 million km2 above the 2018 record low minimum of 15.55 million km2.

A complete change in the last 2 days - Antarctic sea ice extent losses well above average, Arctic sea ice extent gains well below average - and the result is very very much above average global sea ice extent losses, and Global extent back to 6th lowest from 8th lowest.
