When the Democrats take control of the House in January 2019, it will then likely become feasible for them to not only expose Russia's linked to Trump but also to many key Republican Congress members:
Title: "Hidden Motives behind Key GOP Leaders’ Cooperation with Trump & Russia: An Evidence-based Examination of Irrational Behaviors & the Republican Congress Members Who Exhibit Them"

Not only did he defeat the Democrats during the 2016 election, but he may be currently threatening the “winners” of the election, attempting to elicit their voluntary or involuntary cooperation…
…
But another danger, lurking beneath the Donald Trump horror show, is the Republican-led Congress and its failure to place appropriate checks on our nation’s executive branch.
…
The knowledge that Robert Mueller’s investigative “walls” are closing in on Trump, his family, and his inner circle should embolden GOP leaders to avoid any association with Trump. Therefore, we would expect rational Republican House and Senate members to steer clear of any interference with the Russia investigation, given the strong evidence that Trump, and many in his orbit, are compromised by Russia and that some have also committed crimes. But this reasonable expectation is far from the reality of what is happening.

The next logical step is to question whether the GOP’s seemingly self-destructive behavior stems from non-policy concerns that have yet to be discovered. This line of thinking naturally leads us to one glaring vulnerability within the Republican party that may shed some light on their conduct. Although former Republican National Conference (RNC) chairman, Reince Priebus, repeatedly denied that the RNC emails were violated, it has been established by the FBI that the Russians successfully hacked the RNC’s emails, possibly exposing weaknesses within the Republican leadership. In fact, it appears that the Russians now possess approximately ten years’ worth of GOP emails, through 2015, when SmarTech, an email and web-hosting firm, stopped hosting the Republican Party’s email accounts. (Tom Del Beccaro, the ex-chairman of the California Republican Party, reported to The Smoking Gun that SmarTech has “admitted being hacked.”) Andy Greenberg, a cyber security and “hacker culture” expert at Wired Magazine, identifies a possible underlying link to a non-policy agenda in his astute observation: “What’s still not clear, of course, is what the RNC’s stolen emails might contain. But the group would be wise to review its older servers for potential scandals. The election may have passed without an RNC leak, but Russia’s intelligence agencies could still be holding onto a few secrets of America’s ruling party.”
It would be naïve to ignore that Vladimir Putin likes to leverage “secrets.” If the Russians discovered any hidden scandals within the Republican hacked emails, then this is exactly what Putin would attempt to do.

And while Putin has achieved the ultimate Soviet goal of controlling an American president — a “useful idiot” — he may also have achieved something far more dangerous: If key Republican Congress members are hiding their Kremlin-linked finances or are being threatened for some other reason, making it difficult to fulfill their Constitutional duty to provide oversight of the executive branch, then Putin has made a mockery of the democratic system we cherish and has set us on a collision course with authoritarianism."
