Frankie Laine - Cry Of The Wild Goose (1950)

"It is preoccupation with possessions, more than anything else, that prevents us from living freely and nobly" - Bertrand Russell
"It is preoccupation with what other people from your groups think of you, that prevents you from living freely and nobly" - Nanning
Why do you keep accumulating stuff?

A 2015 cover of the classic California Dreamin' by the singer Sia, which I quite enjoy.
The action scenes are taken from the (not so good) movie San Andreas, to which the cover served as soundtrack.

Some may feel a James Bond theme song is the definition of useless pop, but I find the latest one, by teenage wonder Billie Eilish, gives me chills.

Apologies for the consecutive post bombardment, but here's another one I love from 1978, by then-teenage-wonder Kate Bush, inspired by Emily Bronte's book.
To those who may care about such frivolities, with this song Kate Bush became the first female artist to have an entirely self-penned number one hit in the UK.

Kate Bush - Wuthering Heights

And of course Tanita Tikaram - Twist In My Sobriety.
"The song is really about not understanding - when you're 18, you've got a very particular emotional relationship with the world, you feel very isolated, and everybody else is so distant and cold. And I think I was singing about not feeling anything or not being moved by things around. I think this is a strong feeling when you're just after adolescence."
