Such a beautiful melody and lyrics. Dutch lyrics below the video.

Helga - Niemand Heeft Je Ooit Gezien (nl) (1972)
(3m01)

Lalalalalalalala

Lailailailailailai
Lailailailailailalali

That one is worth being an American hit. We have foreign languages get hits every once in awhile and with google translate we can even find out the lyrics.

The genre no one needed.

The following is an album full of surf style covers of black metal covers songs which works pretty well although the Leave No Cross Unturned cover is actually 8 bit.

The singular of phenomena is phenomenon. Here's perhaps where it started. Meanwhile even scientists have trouble with the word.  8)

This is perhaps more for a "weird music" thread.
György Ligeti described the music of Conlon Nancarrow as "the greatest discovery since Webern and Ives" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conlon_Nancarrow

We're having December weather hear in MN, so I thought I'd pop in these cold-themed songs:

Choderlos de Laclos "You struggle to come up with some valid reasons, then cling to them, not because they're good, but just to not back down."

The instrument in the first part that sounds a bit like a dying cow is a shehnai, an Indian double read, thought to have been developed for charming snakes. A review of the album it's on includes the phrase "not for everybody" :)

Since you lot like oldies so much here are some:  :)

THE OLDEST SONG IN THE WORLD

This song to the Hurrian goddess Nikkal, is the oldest piece of music for which we have both the words and the accompanying musical notes. The work was written on clay tablets around 3500 years ago, and was discovered by archaeologists in the 1950’s in the ruins of the ancient city of Ugarit.
