Did  Dungeon Master ever set up an onion address ?

If so, i would like to know it. If not, might that be possible ?

I'm not sure if he will read this, sidd, so maybe better to send him a PM. If that doesn't work, let me know, and I'll ask him.

Just did. I hadn't yet, since i would hate to bother him. I am sysadmin for a buncha machines, and i know how i hate it.

But perhaps he will not take it amiss.

Ouch, I thought I had answered.

I don't really see the point of having an onion address, but "the customer is always right" so I agree to try and set it up!

I gave a look at some how-tos perform this, but couldn't find a simple guide... do you Readers have links to share?

I did not know what TOR was - seems it is too easily a gateway to hell. Having worked in places where contact with the dark side of humanity was unavoidable, I retreat immediately.

Tor Bejnar is actually quite a nice guy, once you get to know him.  ;)

My coworker of 11 years (at least sometimes) will disagree with you, Neven.   :-\
And as to onions:  :'(

I've had a few PMs from the Bejnar, I reserve my judgement.

The first step is to get on the Tor network. Better check with the ISP that does not violate terms of service. You can set up the Tor instance as an entry, intermediate, or exit node. The last may open you up to legal liability, since if someone goes thru your exit node for an attack, it will be traced back to the exit node. So better mebbe to set up as entry or bridge node.

Once you are on theTor network, onion addresses are easy. But first you need to be on Tor.

Also i should point out that if you set up as entry (or exit) node you become a more attractive target for actors seeking to track Tor users. And you have  a larger attack surface, for various reasons. Discussion of those issues should probably be offline.

So probably set up as a bridge node to get your toes wet and play with it forawhile.

I would be completely useless in this regard. The only one who can do it, is DungeonMaster. It's up to him if he wants to.
