Re-read my post. I said “For the record”. I brought Sigmetnow’s (unfair) demand to limit what can be said, and explained why I will not comply with that. It’s just a comment better placed here, it would be off topic in the original thread.

Well, about these subjects,  mixed feelings were common, regarding war, it is more complicated.

What they all have in common, is that they polarize, and on a forum where controversial/polarizing discussions are allowed, there's little chance of perfect forum decorum. This was very soon the case on this forum and didn't start with the proxy war in Ukraine (which is what you said).

And that's okay. Decorum shouldn't be the primary goal on a forum that is about things like disappearing Arctic sea ice and AGW, because 'decorum' or 'tone' is often a tool that is used to maintain the status quo. Wokeness and identity culture are prime examples of this.

It's supposed to be a battle of ideas.
