Nellie the icelephant , anyone ?
Yes...especially with the N. polar eye!
However, judging by the modest ears, it is probably a mammoth.
Perhaps the ice cap is signalling a looming extinction.

Lets call her Nellie the Mammoth then.

To Bombay a traveling circus came, they brought an
cloned mammoth and Nellie was her name
One dark night she slipped her iron chain
And off she ran to the Arctic Sea
And was never seen again
Until the satellite era

Makes more sense then i thought it would with some minor adaptations.

Sadly the second verse is a bit ruin these days.  ;)

Asian elephants have smallish ears
And an African elephant has ears shaped like Africa.

Cool! The Indian elephant has ears shaped like the subcontinent before it rammed into Eurasia...although that might be pareidolia too.  :)

This Simple Test Reveals if Your Mental Images Are More Vivid Than Other People's

"But our new study, published in Cortex, shows that while some people see castles or fractals in the Ganzflicker, others see nothing. We have come up with a theory of where those individual differences come from.

Like a computer screen, the part of your brain that processes visual information (the visual cortex) has a refresh "button" which helps it sample the environment – taking snapshots of the world in quick succession.

In other words, your brain collects sensory information with a certain frequency. Yet you see the world as continuous and dynamic, thanks to your brain's sophisticated ability to fill in the blanks.

For example, your eyes have a blind spot right outside the center of vision, but you don't see a patch of blackness everywhere you look. Your visual cortex extrapolates from the surrounding visual information so that your whole field of view appears to be complete. If the sensory information being processed is the Ganzflicker, this will interact with your brain's own rhythms to alter how you fill in or interpret what you are seeing."

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf7Fs5gzrcJDUx_75JkZu6xwyGzJ3N9BfyOm6AzOJtqw4Ae3w/viewform

In less than ten minutes, it creates altered states of consciousness, with no lasting effects for the brain. Visual experiences set in almost as soon as you start looking at it.

It does look like it.

But why so ugly?

Blobfish are typically shorter than 30 cm (12 in). They live at depths between 600 and 1,200 m (2,000 and 3,900 ft), where the pressure is 60 to 120 times greater than that at sea level, which would likely make gas bladders inefficient for maintaining buoyancy.[2] Instead, the flesh of the blobfish is primarily a gelatinous mass with a density slightly less than that of water; this allows the fish to float above the sea floor without expending energy on swimming. The blobfish has a relative lack of muscle, but this is not a disadvantage, as its main food source is edible matter that floats in front of it, such as deep-ocean crustaceans.[3]

Blobfish are often caught as bycatch in bottom trawling nets.

The popular impression of the blobfish as bulbous and gelatinous is partially an artifact of the decompression damage done to specimens when they are brought to the surface from the extreme depths in which they live.[4] In their natural environment, blobfish appear more typical for their superclass Osteichthyes (bony fish).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychrolutes_marcidus

So it is actually a lot prettier in its natural environment but then it would not look like the ice.

Chinese Rover Reaches Mysterious Moon Cube: It's a Rock

Quote
Last month, China’s Yutu-2 rover made a discovery on the far side of the Moon that captured the world’s imagination: a hazy cube-like object in the distance, which China National Space Administration-affiliated outreach blog Our Space playfully described as a “mystery hut.”

... Now, Yutu-2 has gotten close enough to see what it is: a rock. Just a regular old Moon rock.

Even the scientists seemed disappointed. The cube appeared as tall as the Arc de Triomphe in the distance, the Our Space blog notes, but “turned out to be very short when approached, and the drivers couldn't help but feel a little disappointed.”

Space mission meet pareidolia.  :)

Details plus impressive picture (if you like rocks) see original post.
