Regarding GIFs, would you like to have them 'autoplay' or 'click to play'?

My internet connection is freaking awesome. I want all GIFs to autoplay by default.

I'm aware that there are folks with poor connection. So i think only big files should be click to play.

IF ALL HAPPY MAYBE NEVEN COULD MAKE THEM INTO A RULE OF SORTS

Seems like a good idea. Lets go for the solution that saves most energy.

The data loading is not really a problem for me but i would like to keep my scrollwheel alive as long as possible and the whole metadiscussions annoy me.

Just a quick reminder here:

Many of the actual scientists who are literally "boots on the ice" & whom we rely on for the data we drool over here - they suffer from poor bandwidth. Last I checked, there's no FiOp on the ice. And I also know that many of them also peruse these forums...
