Projections for 11 of the last 12 years say the maximum has been reached (14.45 million km2).

92% chance? I like those odds, so I'm calling maximum.

Besides, all the discussion of the upcoming melt in the freezing season thread seems a tad odd to me.
A single seed in the right place can sprout an entire forest.
