Are you addicted to displays or radio waves?
90% of the world is religious, but somehow "love thy neighbour" became "fuck thy neighbours", if they don't agree with your point of view.

WTF happened?

Fear.. Always good to score some points with amongst the insecure and faithless...
Or is it faith itself that scares us?
I'm confused...
Always scared of going to hell?
So better to blow yourself up and take the door with the virgins?

Is that male or female virgins by the way? 🤔
Just imagine blowing yourself up and ending up in a room full of male virgins... 😂🤣😂🤣😂

What the hell is "displays"? Drunk and stoned day is not a good day for posting or starting polls.
And sure if you watch MSNBC or whatever other TV news every day then I don't envy you.

For the first time in history you can watch the implosion of a global empire live on TV (display). It only happens every few hundred years, and this is the first time it's happening live on TV... How can you not watch that?

This is actually a good question.

I have looked at a computer display screen or TV almost every day for the last fifty years. There are periods when i do not, out in the unconnected wilderness for a month or so ... but not often enuf.

I do not feel need when i am disconnected as in addiction, but i must admit that for various reasons i must connect up at least once every couple months for a few days. I suppose i could go unconnected for a year or two, but thats because i am lucky, with reliable friends and legal help whom i could trust with powers of attorney if it came to it.

Not everyone is as fortunate as i, constant internet seems to be a requirement for life in this new, strange and terrible world.

Am I addicted to displays or radio waves?
Gave up on TV over twenty years ago as the internet matured. Gave up on printed press about the same time.
I guess have used a computer display since to access the world.
At first as a passive consumer of knowledge and information.
Then as an active member of communities like forums and blogs such as this.
It is not the screen it is the world you can access and interact with.

Radio waves are unavoidable if the internet is by cell. I could  not get a wire or fibre to my boat when I lived aboard and a solid connection up my present driveway would cost more than cell access is for me.

The paradigm shift due  the human connections now possible with the net is as big or bigger than the printed word. Some of this is opportunity for  betterment of the human condition some is outright horror.
You can learn besides some of the greatest minds alive or watch over the shoulder at a terrorists mindless slaughter of innocents.
We live in interesting times.

Animals can be driven crazy by placing too many in too small a pen. Homo sapiens is the only animal that voluntarily does this to himself.
Notebooks of Lazarus Long.
Robert Heinlein.

This is not the first time we can see an empire implode on TV. I watched the Iron Curtain fall and the Soviet Union disappear. Possibly too early for you.
