I am very new to the topic of arctic/antarctic sea ice and I was reading this article from the BBC about shifts observed on the East Antarctic Ice Sheet. This article mentions changes occurring on the "George VI coast" - I haven't been able to find mention of a location named George VI on East Antarctica, only the George VI sound which is on the peninsula on the west side. The George V Coast, on the other hand, is on the east side of Antarctica and I'm wondering if I've spotted a typo. Can anyone here more familiar with Antarctic geography what is going on here?

I think you are right, GMS.

TinEye reverse search only finds this attributed to a random Chinese board and the BBC. So this is a self-made graphic. It must be an error on the authors part.

Welcome, GMS, to the ASIF! Great catch, too!

Arctic ice is healthy for children and other living things because "we cannot negotiate with the melting point of ice"
