Northern most glaciers.
« on: August 03, 2014, 07:16:47 PM »
It find it a bit funny that the 8 northern most glaciers, all above 83,34,41 N, are nameless, they are all situated in a relatively small area called Gertrud Rask Land and all within 30 km.

Gertrud Rask Land is a part of Johannes V- Jensen Land and Peary Land and about 60 km from the second most northern point in Greenland Kap Morris Jesup (Kaffeklubben Ø is situated 87 seconds further north).

I found that glacier # 6 seen on image below is the northern most glacier in Greenland and thereby in the world.

I will contact the authorities here in Copenhagen and check if it is true these glaciers are officially nameless.

By the way the Landsat 8 image used below is very rare and is from May 17 2013 (only 1 exist).
