Copernicus Masters competition is on for FY2015 with the proposal submission deadline set for July 13, 2015. I have been looking at previous challenge winners and their Earth Observation proposals range from bathymetry mapping to crop detection to ground deformation but I see precious little on cryospheric applications such as the use of the freely available SAR data from CryoSAT and Sentinel-1 for sea ice and iceberg detection. Or for any cryospheric application. Check out the competition in the links below:

On a different topic: I know that Sentinel-1 has been providing operational data for a couple of months only. Having said that, are there any research papers, journal articles, or pre-prints available on the use of Sentinel SAR data for sea ice research till date?
