Science / edx online course MITx: 12.340x Global Warming Science

MIT is offering its course on global warming science online through edx.  I have just registered for the course.  It looks informative and interesting, though challenging - the prerequisites include math through differential equations, and college physics.  Anyone else interested?

Policy and solutions / Student climate activists call for colleges to divest in coal &petroleum stocks

I just now heard a story on public radio about student activists at 300 colleges calling on their college endowment funds to divest their stock portfolios of companies that produce or generate power with coal.  This is one of the most hopeful stories I've heard lately.
