Now that reminded me of a real joke PMT.

This: http://slao.se/fakta/klimatforandringar-och-utforsakning-sverige/
Lazy will provide a google translate:

SLAO's work for the sustainable skiing of the future

The Alpine skiing in Sweden has been using manufactured snow since the 1970s to improve skiing and extend the seasons. Manufactured snow is more heat resistant than normal snow and today represents a stable base in the slopes of about 90 percent of SLAO members. To provide the guests with such a high-quality skiing experience as possible, manufactured snow is also used for snowy winters as it provides a better and more durable base for the skiers.

The technology development for snowmaking is rapidly advancing and today it is only one-seventh of the energy needed in the 1970s for snowmaking. We estimate that our ski resorts will be more snow-proof in the future than they have been historically. According to our estimates, manufactured snow in ski slopes in the Swedish mountains will be able to fully compensate for reduced snow levels.

If that doesn't make you laugh, maybe this will:
http://sverigesradio.se/sida/artikel.aspx?programid=161&artikel=6813569
Until 2050 there are no big differences, but if we do not do anything before 2100 then there is the risk that there is not much snow left in the Falun Mora area, "Mats Rylander, environmental manager at Vasaloppet says.

Laugh now please.

Resurrecting an old thread "Arctic Sea Ice Forum Humor". Not a lot of good news this week and a lot of bad stuff.

By the way:- In a civilised country humor" is spelt "humour" .
Definition and Origin:
Humour (British English) or humor (American English; see spelling differences) is the tendency of particular cognitive experiences to provoke laughter and provide amusement. The term derives from the humoral medicine of the ancient Greeks, which taught that the balance of fluids in the human body, known as humours (Latin: humor, "body fluid"), controlled human health and emotion.
Trouble is - the Yank spelling matches the Latin origin

Here is the first posting from Trump's Science Bible

One Hundred Proofs That the Earth Is Not a Globe by William Carpenter published 1885

Proof 33. If the Earth were a globe, people—except those on the top—would, certainly, have to be “fastened” to its surface by some means or other, whether by the “attraction” of astronomers or by some other undiscovered and undiscoverable process! But, as we know that we simply walk on its surface without any other aid than that which is necessary for locomotion on a plane, it follows that we have, herein, a conclusive proof that Earth is not a globe.

Further to that, Voltaire knew 150 years before 1885.

When Newton wrote Principia in 1687 he also claimed that the earth was an oblate spheroid. Fifty years later, Maupertuis led an expedition to investigate this. He went to Lapland and the border between Sweden and Finland:
https://travelpello.fi/en/expedition-of-maupertuis-to-lapland-determine-shape-of-earth/

When Voltaire heard of this, he chided the expedition on why they needed to go to the Arctic to investigate something that Newton knew without even opening his window.

Now we write 2018 and some say that humanity has advanced?
