It's really a probability, that Arctic war, if some states which have no lands in the region keep trying to get their share of the pie. The EU seems to have joined the race http://cyberlegion.org/europes-share-of-the-arctic-pie/#more-144

Perhaps the EU countries should be involved in Arctic issues more intensely economically. But I frankly fear that we may be forced into some military squabbles over Arctic region due to our "friendship" with the USA. At least our Middle East military partnership with the USA makes me think so.
Frankly, I hate this to ever happen. All in all, NATO is already conducting military drills in the region, which doesn't make me jump with joy.
