Methane Release: Information Required for Article
« on: May 23, 2016, 06:13:39 AM »
Hey everyone,

My name is Justin Arjoon, I'm a long-time lurker of the ASIF. I'd like to ask for your help on an article I'm writing for mainstream consumption. The article is comparing the Holocene extinction with the Permian-Triassic extinction.

I have a couple of questions concerning ocean anoxia as projected by these articles;
https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2016/04/160427150914.htm
https://www2.le.ac.uk/offices/press/press-releases/2015/december/global-warming-disaster-could-suffocate-life-on-planet-earth-research-shows

1) Is the timeline (before 2100) a reasonable estimate for widespread marine hydrogen sulphide production?

2) If so, do you agree with the factors listed in the articles, if not, could you explain why?

I'm not writing an alarmist article, it is supposed to be as factual as possible without embellishing.

Thank you all for your help!

Justin Arjoon
The most enjoyable way to think about heat transfer through radiation is to picture a Star Wars laser battle, where every atom and molecule is constantly firing at every other atom and molecule.
