If we are in this together - why not make it work

If we are going to get through this together in living communities, why not consider the following four strategies:

A) Island mode

You are able to run a resilient energy system without FF, e.g. like Samsø, Bornholm, Taiwan or Sri Lanka. You will have particular challenges during the holiday season, when energy consumption increases tenfold.

B) City service mode

You are in a big and affluent city. Your neghbours are willing to share their needs for energy services with you. City services such as transportation, swimming, parks and leisure activities ad libitum are more important than energy services. Take Copenhagen, Vancouver or Sydney as examples.

C) Borderline communities

Your area is blessed with a surplus of solar, wind or geothermal energy. You will for - most of the year - live a happy life. However, for extended periods, you may be willing to export your energy surplus to other regions on market terms. This will require you to allow your energy consumption during dark and calm periods to reach rock bottom. Call it hibernation or adaptation. You will have to survive during the most difficult periods on your own. However, your existence relies on external markets.

D) Global connectivity

Your role in the World is valuable and others are willing to pay for your services. Markets will be fully transparent, and you will be able to pay for your RE as it becomes free of FF-instigated taxes and freely available. You will be advocating collaboration, togetherness and sharing. Don't hesitate to act!
