Reporting the changes in the second week of the season starting in October. Strong refreeze with century increases
on averagefor both extent and area. All regions withing the Arctic Basin contribute with CAB, Kara and Laptev increasing most. The ESS that had a slow start in the first week is picking up speed now. As can be seen in the attached changed image, land fast ice is starting to form on the Asian side (ESS to Kara), very little in the Chukchi and Beaufort regions.
