Login broken [update: should be fixed now]

This is the user formerly known as sidd on this forum. Login is broken, have not been able to login for a few days, error message tells me that session has timed out, as logicmanpatrick and other pointed out on the typepad blog.

I have the same thing - at least when I try to log in from the main page.

Clicking through to the actual login page first, that works though.

Similar.  The top left login dnw (does not work).  However the lower middle login does work.  No problems with logout.  No other glitches or major bugs noted.

Looks like the problem is with the login boxes at the top. If you go to the login link from the main page, the boxes on top of the resulting page also deny login with the timeout error. One needs to use the boxes lower down in the login page for it to work. Mebbe broken auto added header code?

The ASIF attracts brilliant minds.  This topic keeps bouncing to the top of recent comments.  Having two login options is not needed.  Why not just delete one.

I could delete sidd's temporary account (temp1) without killing the thread. So I did.

I have had a bit more time to look at the issue, and i see no difference between the broken login attempt and the working one except that a field is defined as

form id="guest_form" in the broken case, but form id="frmLogin" in the working one. All else incuding the form action, the field names and the hash passed seem the same. I dunno if this helps debug but perhaps it might.

One last thought is that the error message states that the session has expired. Might the broken form with form id="guest_form"  invoke a time comparison that fails, yet one that succeeds when form id ="frmLogin" ?

Trying to make a more obnoxious title in the Recent Posts list, to catch people's attention.

The story so far: the main logon screen isn't working -- but if you use the secondary one (the one you get when you have an invalid userid or password;  or the other Login screen), they will work OK.

Ouch sorry guys, I hadn't realized that it was that bad !

The latest update introduced a new security mechanism which was not applied in the slightly modified themes we use here. As a result it went broke...

I think it is fixed now - please tell me if not yet...
