Highly unusual. The Sunday low was 75, breaking the record of 74 that was set in 1898, and tied in 1941. 1941 still has the record for highest monthly temperature of 96, set on the 5th. That was followed by highs of 92 and 95 on the following days, and 2007 is still the warmest month, with an average temperature of 67.7. Through the first 10 days of the month, 2017 is still cooler (average temperature of 71.3) than the warmest years of 2007 (avg 75.
and 1941 (avg 75.7).
Based on pure statistics, any location with a temperature record of 120 years should experience three new daily highs maximums and minimums, along with a similar number of new daily lows. Currently in 2017, Washington DC has set 2 daily high maximums (both in Feb.), 0 low maximums, 10 daily low maximums (6 in the winter, 1 in spring, 1 in summer, and 2 in so far in the fall), and 0 low minimums. Nothing too surprising, as the nights continue to warm.
